Tough Mudder

strength + endurance + a touch of crazy = Huge Accomplishment!

His strength and dedication have always impressed me. But on Mother’s Day this year my husband really knocked it out of the park by challenging himself to compete in the Tough Mudder at Mt. Snow. Chris and a bunch of other people from our dojo ran hard, climbed hard, pushed hard, and finished a crazy hard 10-mile obstacle course. They were all amazing and I am so proud of everyone who was “tough enough” to do it!! What an awesome show of teamwork, camaraderie, love for your fellow competitors, strength, and most of all endurance! Great job guys!!!!

You make me so proud babe! :)

My Son | Connecticut Portrait Photographer

This is my son.
Please don’t tell him this is strange.
He’s usually the only kid willing to be photographed when I need something.
He was a willing participant last week when I needed to wrap a cherry blossom wreath around his head.
I think he is beautiful. My sister thinks it’s weird. Charlie was indifferent as long as he got to hold his wiffle ball bat while I was taking the photo. Jack rode around on his bike providing us with snarky kid commentary. And Chris, my husband, may be in the process of disowning me over these photos, but that’s up in the air.

I love it. So there. :)

The email | Connecticut Family Portrait Photographer

There were no words in the email. Just two words in the subject line and a little movie attached. “Thank You,” the subject line said. That’s it. I had no idea what to expect and frankly, I was a little afraid. I had just done family photos for this family, and sent them the digital files. I am always afraid that people won’t like the work I give them, and this was the case for this family too. But I was in for quite a surprise. An awakening of sorts.

Sometimes photos are more than photos. Sometimes they serve as memories. Substitutions for the people who are not with us. Happy spots in gray, dark days. Sad reminders of a life that once was. Hope for the day Daddy comes home from serving his country. Reminders of a good life full of love, family, ring-around-the-rosy and warm hugs. I am really happy that I get to play a part of all that.

Here’s the video – it touched me so.
